In the United States, Lockheed Martin modernised the Hercules with the help of the US Air Force. Hercules' hardware and software have been upgraded to Block 8.1 standards. Safety enhancements to the aircraft planned for the RAAF's No. 37 Squadron aviators were also carried out as part of the Block 8.1 system upgrade. The navigation systems on the plane were also tweaked to improve precision when landing or dropping goods. Furthermore, Block 8.1 will assist the RAAF's C-130J Hercules fleet in adhering to the most recent global air traffic control rules. It also allows improved friend-or-foe recognition systems to be integrated into coalition operations.

The Royal Canadian Air Force's (RCAF) CF-18 Hornet fighter aircraft fleet has been awarded a performance-based contract (PBC) renewal to L3Harris Technologies. The four-year PBC is expected to be worth $482 million and includes further option years.L3Harris will provide in-service support for the CF-18 until its scheduled retirement in 2032, according to the contract.Maintenance, programme management, engineering, material management, and other electronic publications will also be provided by the company. For the CF-18 multi-role combat aircraft fleet, the PBC will also provide operational software support, integrated logistic support, and data management.
