A Benchmarking System to Spark Companies to Action - Innovation that Fuels New Deal Flow and Growth Pipelines
The COVID-19 pandemic changed consumer mobility patterns amid concerns about safety and will continue to affect public transport and private mobility business models over the next few years. More mobility operators are offering multimodality, and some public transport agencies are shifting to contactless ticketing and adding third-party apps to their platforms.
The mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) concept also continues to develop. It consolidates journey planning and payments across various transport modes and providers into a single app. In the future, it will include other value-added services.
Cities want their transportation networks to be more technology-enabled and efficient and seek to make the infrastructure building blocks more connected and intelligent. MaaS can become a control center and a decision-making tool for municipal authorities as they analyze consumer behavior to implement a mobility policy and solutions to achieve critical mass.
MaaS providers may offer business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G), or business-to-consumer (B2C) solutions. The B2B space has been especially active during the pandemic as companies look to offer flexible solutions for their employees. Corporate MaaS and mobility budget solutions are starting to converge. B2G MaaS is on the rise as public transport authorities try to integrate their services with nearby mobility service providers.
